Successful electro, Automation Industrielle & energy 09

Exhibitors praise very good quality of visitors and plenty of new business leads
 
When electro, Automation Industrielle & energy 09 opened its doors on February 22, 2009, it was the “Who’s who” of the electro-technolgy and automation industry in Algeria presiding over the official opening ceremony of this prestigious event. The leading event of its kind in Algeria was opened by the directors of Schneider Electric Algeria, Legrand Electric Algeria, ABB Algeria, Siemens Algeria and of the Italian Institute of Trade Promotion ICE.

When the show closed its doors on February 25, the evaluation done by the organizer fairtrade among the exhibitors showed, that 81.8 % of the exhibitors were satisfied or even very satisfied with the quality of the business meetings held during the show. Concerning electro, Automation Industrielle & energy 09 as a whole, 79.5 % of the exhibitors ticked being satisfied or very satisfied. 75.7 % would recommend the show to other industry peers for participation, whereas 86.4 % of the exhibitors were satisfied or very satisfied when asked about the quality of the services rendered by the organizers fairtrade before and during the event.

To sum up, with 63 exhibitors from 18 countries, electro, Automation Industrielle & energy confirmed its status as Algeria’s major and highly efficient business-to-business event for the Algerian market with a clear focus on quality attendees delivering marketing exposure and branding towards the target audience.

Exhibiting at electro, Automation Industrielle & energy 09 was an excellent opportunity to meet with 1132 key decision-makers; to highlight and introduce new technologies and services, build the customer base, generate new business leads and cultivate existing customer relationships. As the provision of data which have been verified by independent auditors is one of the cornerstones of the quality standards of UFI Approved Events, statistical data such as the number of visitors and exhibitors have been audited and certified by KPMG Algeria in accordance with the “UFI Auditing Rules for the Statistics of UFI Approved Events” and the “UFI Calculation Standards and Definitions”.

The event made it to the top: electro, Automation Industrielle & energy 09 succeeded in attracting three renowned sponsors. The global specialist in energy management - Schneider Electric came forward as Platinum Sponsor of electro, Automation Industrielle & energy ’09, Legrand Electric Algéria was Gold Sponsor and last but not least, ABB was Silver Sponsor.

For the very first time, a country had been appointed as the official Guest of Honour: Italy presented a strong participation of Italian companies. As one of Algeria’s most important trading partner, Italy’s presentation as the Guest of Honour of electro, Automation Industrielle & energy 09 demonstrated its potential to further develop this comfortable position. The official Italian pavilion, organized by the Italian Institute of Trade Promotion ICE, featured 13 exhibitors displaying their latest innovations.

The conference program “Journée d’Information” accompanied and complemented the event with a series of corporate technical presentations with the participation of top industry professionals.

Another first: for electro, Automation Industrielle & energy 09, fairtrade applies to earn the ‘UFI Approved Event’ quality label as certification of the highest level of professional exhibition standards (UFI The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry). UFI was founded in Paris in 1925 and is now the world’s leading association of trade fair organisers and industry partners. As the provision of data which have been verified by independent auditors is one of the cornerstones of the quality standards of UFI Approved Events, electro, Automation Industrielle & energy 09 statistical data  has been audited by KPMG Algiers.
 
What’s up for 2010? In April and May 2009, fairtrade, in cooperation with a leading multi-national PR consultancy company, will conduct a qualitative study among the most important players on the Algerian electro-technology and automation market. The target of this study is to brainstorm and to team-up with this year’s exhibitors in order to innovate for 2010 and to make electro, Automation Industrielle & energy 2010 even more successful by making even more decision makers visit their stands and discuss business.

With a gdp of more than US $ 135 billion in 2007, foreign exchange reserves of US$ 110 billion, and exports of petrochemicals worth US$ 58 billion, Algeria is the economic powerhouse on the African continent, ranking second only after South Africa.
 
The electro-technology sector in Algeria enjoys a level of growth unlike no other North-African country. The current construction boom contributes to the huge increase in demand for electro-technology, building automation equipment and lighting products and solutions. electro, Automation Industrielle & energy exhibitors profit from a massive investment program, which helps to develop the country’s infrastructure and to improve the living conditions for the Algerians.
 
According to figures compiled, for instance, by the Italian Institute for Trade Promotion ICE for the first half of 2008 compared with the same period in 2007, Italian exports of

  • machines and appliances for the production of mechanical energy reached more than 131 million Euros, up 78%;
  • electrical machines and electrical precision appliances made up 74 million Euros, up 77 %;
  • motors, generators and electrical transformers stood at 30 million Euros, a spectacular increase of more than 180 %;
  • appliances for the distribution and control of electricity increased by 127%, reaching 15.5 million Euros.
