Italy Guest of Honour 2009

Organiser fairtrade proudly presents Italy as the Guest of Honour 2009. This was agreed by the director of the Italian Institute for Trade promotion ICE in  Algiers, Samuele Porsia, and Martin März, the managing director of fairtrade by the end of July 2008.  

As one of Algeria’s most important trading partner, Italy’s presentation as the Guest of Honour of electro, Automation Industrielle & energy 09 contributes to further develop this comfortable position.

Italian exhibitors present their innovations in the fields of highly energy efficient machineries, lighting technology, house and building automation and electro-technology equipment as a part of the official Italian pavilion organised by ICE.

Furthermore, great emphasis will be put on the “Italian Day”, where Italian exhibitors get the opportunity to showcase their outstanding variety of leading-edge technologies. 

In terms of figures, the Italian exports of electrical machines and electrical precision appliances to Algeria reached 74 million euros during the first half of 2008, which marks an increase of 77 % compared with the same period in 2007. Concerning Italian exports of motors, generators and electrical transformers, the figures reached 30 million euros, a spectacular increase of more than 180 % compared to the first half of 2007.
 
Additional increases included the exports of appliances for the distribution and control of electricity (+127 %), reaching 15.5 million euros during the first half of 2008, and the exports of machines and appliances for the production of mechanical energy (+78 %), reaching more than 131 million euros.
